COVID

Just when we were thinking that it’s getting over, the second wave hit. This time, there are many cases from near and dear; not just from news! Finally, the vaccine has arrived. Then, the waiting time for it to be open for the age group. Booking a slot is another circus. Finally, managed to get the second jab by June!

Travel

  • First long drive on car, that too with kids and loads of luggage. It was fun driving all the way from Pune to Visakhapatnam!
  • Visited Vanajangi and Paderu. That was a hidden paradise. The magnificent sunrise view was totally worth the uphill climb early in the morning!
  • Registered for Rupin Pass trek after hearing this from Sundar. Supposed to be in May, but had to postpone due to COVID. Finally, I did the trek in September. Trekking in himalayas, staying in tents, staying totally network-free, with completely strangers for one whole week… I must say that this is the most unique experiences so far!
  • Visited Kaas Plateau after almost 10 years. We missed the golden period where the plateau is blooming with colorful flowers. Nevertheless the drive and sunrise was worth the effort!
  • We managed to explore some local places for sunrise. The hilly place near Chaturmukh Shiv Temple and the Valley View Point are amazing spots for early morning hikes and a short picnic.
  • Shimla trip with darling Deetya in December. Shimla is a small and beautiful city, with its heritage dating back to British era. Walking on those heritage routes is like therapy.

Dengue

Almost right after the Kaas Plateau visit, I was diagnosed with Dengue. I am grateful to my family and friends for ensuring that I passed the tunnel without passing away. 2 small mosquitoes turned out to be more powerful than mighty Himalayas 🙂 The hospitalization episode has definitely shook my foundation!

Books

Thanks to Audible, I managed to complete few books.

  • A short story of nearly everything – Bill Bryson
  • Ashoka the great – Wytze Keuning
  • The happiness project – Gretchen Rubin
  • The psychology of money – Morgan Housel
  • A life on our planet – David Attenborough
  • The warren buffet way – Robert Hagstrom
  • The intelligent investor – Benjamin Graham
  • Apprenticed to himalayan master – Sri M
  • Sapiens – Yual Noah Harrari

All of these are amazing books. My all time favorites is A short history of nearly everything. Hardly few pages into the book, you’ll realize how insignificant we are relative to the scale of time, space and longevity of other events that takes place on this planet!

Wishing you loads of happiness, joy and peace!
